I'm hoping for Warmack from Bama to slip to 18...guards usually do but I'm seeing scouts (not just some fans) thinking he might crack the top 10. I'm PRAYING he falls to us...he is a game changer at guard. I'm even ok with Cook at C if we can get him. Cook actually graded out well for the season.

Now that would be great. I was banking on Warmack being gone. But if he isn't, I definitely want him here. I liked your thinking on Barrett Jones dropping due to his age plus having foot surgery. I'd love him in the 2nd or 3rd round.

Well, I looked at cbssportsline's draft rankings and they have Warmack at 3rd overall and 1st at his position.

dude is a bulldozer. Broaddus was saying the difference with him (or Warford) and Cooper is that Cooper is a guy you can do more with. He is faster and more athletic..much better in space. Warmack will kill the guy in front of him though. Any of those 3 would be good. There are others too. Long looked good in the senior bowl. lots of good Gs and Cs in this draft.

News about the Justin Durant signing: cowboysblog.dallasnews.com/2013/03/cowboys-agree-to-contract-with-lb-justin-durant.html/The Cowboys have signed their first player of free agency. Sort of. The club has reached an agreement on a two-year contract with outside linebacker Justin Durant. The problem is the Cowboys have just slightly more than $100,000 to spend at the moment. That means Durant will have to wait to sign the deal until the club clears the necessary salary cap room. He tweeted Tuesday afternoon that is is time for him to “learn that South Dallas Swag.” Durant was one of three players to visit Valley Ranch on Monday. The others were safeties Michael Huff and Will Allen. The team’s needs at safety appear to override that of outside linebacker. But Durant is a solid player who has started the past two seasons in Detroit and has started a total of 60 games in his six seasons in the NFL. He is strong against the run and is only 27. The philosophy with Durant is similar to the Cowboys did with Dan Connor last season. The club signed Connor as insurance in case Bruce Carter wasn’t ready to claim the starting job. The Cowboys hope Kyle Wilber will claim the starting outside linebacker job next to Sean Lee and Bruce Carter in 2013. If he doesn’t, Durant gives them a proven option ahead of Wilber and Alex Albright for the job.

And here is the stuff about Will Allen getting signed: profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2013/03/27/will-allen-set-to-sign-with-cowboys-when-they-clear-cap-space/Will Allen set to sign with Cowboys when they clear cap space Posted by Josh Alper on March 27, 2013, 11:57 AM EDT Earlier on Wednesday, there was a report that the Cowboys would be making some moves today to clear cap space and add a pair of players. We knew one of the players would be linebacker Justin Durant and now we know the identity of the other one. Adam Schefter of ESPN reports that safety Will Allen, who visited the team at the same time as Durant, plans to sign a contract with Dallas as soon as the Cowboys have freed up enough cash to officially sign him. There’s no word on what the Cowboys will be doing on that front. They could reach agreement on a long-term deal with Tony Romo or Anthony Spencer, restrucutre the deal of another player or cut someone like fullback Lawrence Vickers. Allen comes over from the Steelers, where he’s spent the last three years as a backup behind starters Troy Polamalu and Ryan Clark. The Cowboys currently have Barry Church and 2012 rookie Matt Johnson, who missed the entire year with a hamstring injury, at safety, so Allen should be in the mix for playing time at the back end of the defense once he’s allowed to join the team.

i like most of the players, but think we didn't focus enough on the OL and DL, while also getting screwed by the 49ers in only getting a low 3rd to move down 13 spots

Knee-jerk reaction is, Yes...this draft was not that good. But we really won't know for a few years. What if we end up with a solid, dependable 12 year starter at center and a WR that takes Austin's spot and is part of a dynamic tandem with Dez? Randle and Murray might end up being a hell of a combo for defenses to play, given that they have holes to run through...
I agree that I wish we would have drafted 4 or 5 OL/DL, but it is what it is...
