3rd cousin. Is he related to the Dan Akroyd character in Trading Places?

Solid win over San Jose on Saturday. Losing 2 defenseman and having to play the last half of the game with 4 defenders was pretty demanding of the young group. Having the big boys (Jagr, Ryder, Benn) score the 3 goals was pretty cool to see. That top line is rolling really nicely now.
In the Western conference, as of now, spots 4-13 are all within 5 points. So much moving around each night. It's going to be a crazy ending...

5-4 OT loss to Nashville...after having a 4-2 lead in the second period and a 4-3 lead to start the 3rd. Penalties are killing this team. That's how Nashville got back in the game. That and a few defensive brainfarts.

Nice OT win last night but they have got to stop giving up those late goals...

The offense has been scoring at a solid clip of late, but the penalties and defensive breakdowns are killing them.

Yep, penalties will doom this team (sound familiar??) and it has to be corrected. There are always penalties, but the stupid penalties and the "being out of position" penalties are the killer. But that's what a young team has to learn.
On a side note, the Michael Ryder trade annoys me. With the new owner, there was supposed to be a new flow of money. So instead, we trade the leading scorer on the team because he's in his last year of his contract. I don't see why a 3 year deal couldn't have been worked out. First game without him and they get rocked and only score 1 goal after 10 or 11 games of at least 3+ goals.

West coast road game against the LA Kings. Face-off at 9:30pm here...I'm going to rely on NHL Network in the morning. I effing hate weeknight west coast games. I cant wait for the re-alignment to kick in next season.

Nice win. Jagr with two goals. Stars now tied for 5th in the conference, just two points out of 3rd.

Sure would have been nice to have gotten a win in Phoenix the other day. Especially after such a nice win in LA. And now they are in 10th place...it changes every night.

So the Chicago game was ridiculous. But, the Calgary game was a solid bounce back game.
