[If Garrett asks Jerry about his job status after this team's collapse, Jerry should respond with, "I don't have a good answer for you right now..." That would be GREAT schtick!

So dead set on firing. New head coaches don't normally take their teams to the Super Bowl or even playoffs. There are a few exceptions of course Steelers and Colts. The only thing I care about is the team Improving trending upward? Yes record and talent improved in 2011. The running back position is better, wide receiver position is better, kicking game better, linebacker core is better, secondary is better. Defense and Offensive lines both got worse but we've added a great piece Smith that will be here for 5 more years.
Garrett has a better start to career then Landry and Johnson. I think you got to give this thing time heck if we didn't give Jimmy and Tom more then a year would this team ever have won a super bowl?

Laundry and Johnson didn't inherit playoff teams right off the bat. The year before Wade was fired, Cowboys won the division and made the playoffs. He should have improved on that standard once Romo came back...he hasn't. Alot of this is on Jerry for standing pat in the off-season and not really improving the team's O-line and defense but Garrett has had enough game management brain farts and his team has done enough stupid things (penalties, mistakes) to show me he is not handling practices well enough to raise the IQ of his team. I would be willing to give him another year IF an offensive coordinator is hired so he can be given the opportunity of JUST being the head coach, which could improve things. If he is coming back next year as both again, time to cut bait.

Most of the replacements for those players should have been upgrades. Only 1 that was a downgrade was Gurode, although Flozell in 2009 might have been better than Free this year.

That team had 3 offensive linemen go to pro bowl. Then they some how aged over night Adams, Davis, and Gurode. I to think Gurode was a bad cut there's no debate there. But you saw Davis last year and he was horrible along with Columbo. There's no way you can say our o-line is playing even close to that level. We had.a top 5 O-Line in 2009 now bottom 5 or maybe worse. Across the board every position was better remember the huge debate at the end of the year was why Columbo wasn't a probowler.

I'm not ready to fire Garrett yet, but I really wish Jerry would insist on him hiring an OC.

I'm not ready to fire Garrett yet, but I really wish Jerry would insist on him hiring an OC. Let the offseason play out on that one...Garrett isn't going to come out during the season and say "I need an OC". If we head to camp next year with no OC, then get mad about it. At the very least, I'd like to see another veteran coach added to the staff to help with game management.

I would prefer the head coach to hire his staff. I want Jerry's input on personnel but ultimately it will come down to Garrett's staff his head.
Now Jerry as a GM should be asking why these mistakes are made and pointing out an OC could help fix some of these problems. Jason's staff so far is what a WR coach and Ryan maybe a coupe others. But a majority are hang overs from 2010. We need him to control coaching decisions and what players do on the playing and practice field. Jerry controls contracts and off the field issues. Of course a great part of having a former player that's and owner is he adds quality input that should be listened to in the right situations.
I think Jerry and Jason are headed in the right direction. I'm pretty sure all the preseason personnel decisions where Jason's. I do think Jerry made Garrett aware of what limited resources there were no room under the cap and he made due with some people he'd have preferred to replace. But I'd say that's what an offseason that isn't full of dead money is for.
As long as we continue approving I'm fine with Garrett the minute I see this team quit or we move backward I'll be the first to say fire his ass.

Murray fractured right ankle...out for season. Prepare for next season guys. Maybe if we draft a few decent o-linemen we might do something. They should draft only OL and secondary next year...

Doug will be back at RT next year where he belongs. You can thank Jason Garrett for not even helping him occasionally with the TE or FB. How many times is Collinsworth going to make that point before we actually adjust?? Jason Garrett doesn't have a good answer for you right now... Good schtick...

That is for real? I figured Sister Tristan scheduled a photoshoot for this evening or something. Good schtick...probably Christmas Card glamour shots tonight. Hope he wears something that makes him look legit. Maybe some gold bracelets...

Giants follow up that miracle against us by getting effing drilled by the Deadskins...WTF! If Cowboys beat the Eagles (tall order now that Vick is back) and Giants lose to the Jets...NFC East is decided before the last game of the year...SHOCKING!

what's most shocking is eagles can still win the division - if they win out, and the cowboys lose out
