just call me sportstradamus Will you use that name at open-mic night? no, after open-mic night, Bob's new nickname is Gravy Boat, although we could just call him Gravy. By the way, him echoing my thoughts hardly makes him Sportstradamus. As for tonight, we are in for much of the same. I think Dirk will play better. If Peja, JET, and JJB can manage to shoot 40% collectively we will be in decent shape. Chandler needs to have a BIG series...no more 4 rebound nights. That is embarrassing when Bosh is the biggest guy on the floor for Miami.

So then that happened.....
What a great night!
Dirk is the man, Marion must have found the fountain of youth and Terry always pulls an Ah Sh*T to take away his attaboys but somehow it worked out.

One of the greatest Mavs games I've ever seen. Only the game 7 in San Antonio even compares.
by the way, read this on ESPN and it made me laugh.
Two short lists and an apology:
List #1: Brandon Roy, LaMarcus Aldridge, Kobe Bryant, Russell Westbrook, Kevin Durant, LeBron James, Dwyane Wade -- just some of the players Shawn Marion has guarded on the Mavericks' 13-4 playoff thrill ride to this point of the Finals.
List #2: 26 points on 17 shots, 8 rebounds, 3 assists and 3 blocks in closing out the Thunder. 16 points on 12 shots, 10 rebounds, 4 assists, a steal and a block in Game 1 of the Finals. 20 points on 14 shots, 8 rebounds, 3 assists, a steal, a stat line similar to LeBron's, and running the break nicely to tie the game late in Game 2's win.
And the apology: Dear Shawn Marion, I'm sorry that all season I used you as an example of a player with a ridiculously exorbitant contract.

Again, if only Dirk is going to play offense and only Chandler and Marion will help on defense, we are done. Where is the urgency in quarters 1-3? Why does Dirk shoot 52% against double and triple teams but his team shoots 35% with open looks? 2006 all over again. I didn't think it possible but Barea has actually shrunk in the bright lights. JET is pulling his annual disappearing act and even Kidd is turning it over twice as often. If we had won the title against the superteam, Dirk should have been elevated to top 5 of all time on everyones list for dragging this group to a title.

the two things killing the mavs right now are turnovers and the bench
it's not over yet, though - if they can win games 4 and 5 at home, they're right back in it

I am still waving my Mav's banner and I'm keeping the faith. But...
I think both teams are great but it seems to me that maybe Miami is just a little bit better. The Mavs seem to be just about a half step behind at all times.
I'm staying postive and I'll be cheering but I am a little concerned.

The Mavs are a better TEAM. Miami has FAR superior talent. Problem is...their bench is killing ours.

And that was suppose to be what was to allow us to beat their 2 1/2 superstars.

And that was suppose to be what was to allow us to beat their 2 1/2 superstars. but instead Chalmers is nailing 3 after 3 and JET/JJB can't stop self-fellating long enough to shoot over 40%.

Final 7:23 Miami made ONE shot, the dunk we gave Wade when we were up 3. Crazy good defense. The TEAM stepped up tonight. None of that will help us Thursday. It will be a dogfight for us to stay in these games.
