Of the 22 "experts" on ESPN.com, 7 are picking the Mavs.
As for the big names on that list, Hollinger says Heat in 6, Stein says Mavs in 6, Dr. Jack says Heat in 6, Barry says Mavs in 6, Jalen Rose says Heat in 7, Legler says Heat in 7 and Wilbon says Heat in 7.
I definitely think this series is going 7.

I definitely think this series is going 7. BUT, the general public seems to think (or, at the very least, really hopes) that the Mavs will win the series. The SportsNation poll on ESPN.com (with 161, 420 votes so far) has the highest percentage (47%) predicting the Mavs will win the series in 6 or 7. Only 33% think the Heat will win in 6 or 7. Combined percentages are 54% think the Mavs win the series and 46% pick the Heat. America wants the Mavs to win!

I'm very nervous but I'm saying Mav's in 6! We are going to need our bench, big time. JET, JJB, Haywood...this is a HUGE series for those guys. We have to OWN the front court. There is nothing we can do about Wade and LeBron being the best wings on the court but we have to control the paint and rebound very well. They are going to trap the pick and rolls, especially JJB and JET running a 2 man game with Dirk. It is important that Carlisle have them ready for that. Those guys (JJB and JET) make me nervous but I'm a Mavs homer...no predictions though. I have to stick with what got me here.

Gary's right, we need the bench to be like they were against LA and the defense to be solid and not allow lay-ups and dunks. Contest shots and play tough, smart D. The refs will always make me nervous and make me recall how terrible they were in '06. It's amazing the roster turnover in the two teams. Dallas has Dirk & JET, Miami has Wade & Haslem. That's it...amazing. 4 more wins...4 more wins...

As someone who hates both teams in the Finals, I thought the refs really did a job on the Mavs tonight. That said, I was glad with the result. As much as I dislike Miami Thrice, they are the lesser of 2 evils...too many missed open jumpers by Peja, the Ninja Turtle and Barfa, gotta knock those down if you want to compete in this series.
