To steal a quote. McNabb is better than Grossman at everything, including talking to Grossman's parents, and entering Grossman's email passwords. There is no reason for this, except to tank the season and make a play for Cam Newton.

I'm hard pressed to think of a worse defense in Cowboys history...even the 1-15 team seemed to compete harder than this. I picked the wrong week to go with them in fantasy football...THEY FUCKING SUCK! Only they could make Rex Grossman look like Peyton Manning...

Defense bailed out by Newman...Grossman over 300 yards and 4 TD's...this secondary is laughable...

Zimmer's defense gave up 4 or 5 200 yard rushers in one season. That defense was MUCH worse than this one.

Nobody but the best runner in the NFL should even approach 200 yards rushing in a single game. It is a CRAZY day when ANY RB gets to 200 in the NFL. You MIGHT give up a 200 yard rushing game once or twice a decade. 5 times in a single season? That puts you up there among the worst defenses to ever take the field in the history of the NFL.

Gary's right about Zimmer's being the worst.
But this one is definitely the most underachieving.

Gary's right about Zimmer's being the worst. But this one is definitely the most underachieving. That is probably true. Given the expectations for this team coming into the season and the fact that they way they finished last year it looked like the defense should be a strength...among the best in the NFL. From "among the best" to "among the worst" in the league in one season with no significant personnel changes....crazy.

I think it is the worst AND most underachieving...don't recall any of our CB's in past teams doing everything possible to not have to tackle someone...By the end of the year, this defense will have broken club records for most yards and points given up...BOOK IT!

I can think of quite a few defensive backfields in Cowboys history far worse than this one....FAR, FAR worse. I'm not excusing the horrible play, but I'm not willing to re-write history to make the point either.

Interesting (as in DISTURBING) facts about this year's defense... espn.go.com/blog/dallas/cowboys/post/_/id/4676088/seven-odds-and-ends-from-sundays-game** For the first time since Jerry Jones took over the Cowboys in 1989, the Cowboys have allowed three four-touchdown pass games. Washington’s Rex Grossman joined the Giants’ Eli Manning and Jacksonville David Garrard with his four-TD effort Sunday. The Cowboys allowed two apiece in 2006 and 1989. It was the fifth game the Cowboys allowed at least three touchdown passes in a game, also a single-season mark in the Jones’ Era.
** The Cowboys have allowed 31 touchdown passes this season, two off the team record set in 1962. It is the third time the Cowboys have allowed 31 in a season (1963, 2004). The Cowboys have also allowed four quarterbacks to throw for more than 300 yards in a game – Grossman, Eli Manning (twice), Drew Brees and Peyton Manning.
