if there isn't another major move before the season, we should probably look at dumping Dirk and Kidd at the trade deadline, get younger and pick up lots of picks. if not, this will be bad. We are OK at PG (against most teams, not vs the young guys like CP3 and D-Williams). We are deadfully average at the 2/3 positions. We are good at the 4 spot and have 2 decent guys at the 5. Depth is non-existent. We have 9 role players (about 6 or 7 of which aren't even that good at their roles), one star, and one fading star. Its scary, because the west is LOADED. I like Kidd, but we have done little to get guys around him that can run and defend. If you can run and defend, Kidd is a GREAT PG to have. If you can't defend and get out on the break, you won't take advantage of what makes him special. |

I hate to hear it, but you are right. Getting draft picks for the building of a younger team is what is needing to be done. I don'e want to see Dirk in another uniform, but he won't be able to win here.

Or you just play crazy. Jason Kidd PG - Josh Howard SG - Brandon Bass SF - Dirk Nowitzki PF - DeSagana Diop C. That team would be great on defense and scoring down low. Would have your Power Forward as the only legit 3 point player. Would be a huge mismatch every game.

Last year Kidd looked really out of place and sometimes looked like the Kidd we drafted. |

We do not have the athletes to compliment Kidd. That is why I was not too excited when I first heard about the trade. The more I thought about it, I tricked myself into thinking it was good. Harris may not have been the answer, but at least he was fast and would drive to the hoop. Sure he didn't pass well and pass in prime locations, but he did generate offense. Not looking forward to this season.

We need to see if they can swing another deal for a disgruntled star or something. If you could add a legitimate 2nd option (what Howard is SUPPOSED to be) then this team could compete with anyone. Without the legit 2nd option, we need to look at what we can get to blow it up before the deadline. Not now. Not last year. |

A legit 2 is what Kidd needs. Howard doesn't want to be one. What would we have to give up for a 2? I personally don't want to be giving up anymore draft picks. Who wants spares off our bench. Getting rid of Howard, Terry, Stack, George are the main options I guess.
