Meh, I was expecting more from such an overhyped movie... The action sequences were solid, though few and far between. Also, I think Bale and Ledger both did good jobs playing their respective characters but have you ever seen this much buzz about an actor being "oscar worthy" before the movie is even released? I honestly felt Aaron Eckhard played his character better than Ledger did. I get the feeling people are just handing him all this praise because no one wants to be the a-hole that criticized the dead guy. It was worth the price admission and was a decent 2.5 hour timekiller but I really didn't think the movie was anything special. Honestly, my favorite parts of the night were the trailers for the new Terminator movie and The Watchmen. They both looked really cool...

Best movie of 2008. I think it even was better then Iron Man. It was so good I am watching it again next Saturday at the Web Chapel IMAX theater. Joker was in the top 5 bad guys of all time. The Joker has mattered over the years to what he was in the comic books evil and mean.    |

I watched it for the 2nd time with Marcos this weekend, still wasn't that great. Marcos didn't like it either, thought it was too long...thumbs down.

Ledger was genius in that role...totally demented (not sure how much of that was acting...quite possible that he went insane from all the Jake Gyllenhaal banged your butt jokes).
Great movie..I enjoyed Iron Man more, but that doesn't mean this wasn't great, because it was.
As for Hot Rod...once you proclaimed that greatness, all other movie reviews are suspect. Hot Rod was "ok"....I can't give it much more than that.

I've read articles saying it is the greatest comic book movie of all time and that Ledger played one of the top movie villians "ever", even before the movie came out. Too me, the bang to hype ratio was WAAAAYYY out of whack. Ledger was very solid but I didn't even think he was the best villian in the movie (2-Face). Dude, how can you not be onboard with Hot Rod's greatness, it has the Footloose scene... |

Saw it Sunday night at the Movie Tavern. I thoroughly enjoyed it.... and for those that haven't seen it... **spoiler alert in my posting.**
The only problem I had with Two Face being in the movie was that I think they should've saved the bar conversation where the cop goes "I thought you were dead," and Two Face responds "Only half," for the very end and left us hanging with Two Face being used for number three. But only my humble opinion, which is suspect at best.
Junior, I think the reason you might not have liked it as much as you thought you would is possibly because you set the expectations too high.
Oh yeah, knucklehead alert from the Movie Tavern. Apparently before I got there, their fire alarm went off by accident, and it happened during a previous showing of Dark Knight. So I go in and take my seat, and one of the employees is talking to one of his co-workers about the fire alarm incident, and was about to give away specifics that happened in the movie by saying "Oh yeah, the alarm went off at the part where this happened." So I shouted "No spoilers!" He turned to me then turned to his co-worker and he sounded as if to say that he couldn't believe I'd say that, then he proceeded to stfu. lol
