Checked it out on Sunday. I was pretty happy with reboot/reimage of the core story. Martin Sheen and Sally Field were both great as Peter's Uncle and Aunt. Denis Leary was really good as Captain Stacy. Emma Stone was very sweet and cute as Gwen Stacy. Andrew Garfield's Peter Parker was smart and funny. He did a good job of showing why Gwen would be attracted to him.

Saw this on Saturday...Pretty good although I liked the Tobey Maguire version better. This one had lots of good action and was entertaining but the story just seemed more outlandish than the original. Also, I just didn't feel like Andrew Garfield pulled off Peter Parker that well. Maybe it is because I still see him as the preppy Facebook guy but I thought Maguire's Parker was more believable. I did like Gwen Stacy's character (Emma Stone) more than Mary Jane in the original movies.
Casting aside, the movie was entertaining and the Lizard made a good villain that you hoped would have some kind of redemption at the end. The CGI was good although alot of times it felt more like watching a video game than a movie, especially during the POV scenes of Spiderman swinging. There also seemed like some real holes in the story, such as Gwen Stacy all of a sudden creating an antidote for the Lizard formula out of nowhere and no one noticing Peter sneak into the spider room and altering the machine with no alarms or anything going off.
Overall, thumbs up and worth theater price to expand on the quality action but catch a matinee showing. Also, be sure to stay through the credits for a bonus scene (although it was confusing).
