The Cabin in the Woods: Surprisingly, this was a GREAT movie! I went in expecting just another teen horror flick with all the normal cliches but, from the start, you can tell it is completely unique. The opening monologue with the dad from Stepbrothers and the bad guy from Billy Madison starts things off very differently than your normal youth blood schlock. The portions of the movie in the actual cabin were familiar stuff but once the "decision" in the cellar is made, things get very original. The climactic ending with the sacrifice decisions being made and chaos in the underground bunker was really fun stuff. Nice cameo from a sci-fi legend at the end was well. I haven't felt semi-surprised by a slasher flick since 'Scary Movie', so this one really caught me off guard in a COOL way. Big thumbs up and worth theater price!

I watched it this weekend (finally) and it was everything everyone said about it. If you go into it knowing nothing, it will surprise the heck out of you. It's a very good and very original movie.
