Rough first inning. I think he was just really amped up. Take that inning out and he looked really good. He had a few control issues here and there, but without that first inning, he would have likely pitched 7 and given up maybe 2 runs.
I love how the offense rallied for him. I'm sure he knows he got away with one today and I really think he is going to be fine.

Bob already declared him a failed bit... was just doing my usual kneejerk schtick on twitter after his first inning he settled down nicely after that, and seems to have things turned around for his next start this thread title should have been debYU

Then maybe you should have come here and started it, instead of tweeting your knee JERK reactions.

Neftali has pitched in the majors before, under some very bright lights. Yu was just really amped up...took him a couple of innings to burn off some of the extra energy. Maybe he needs to warm up longer before taking the mound.

REALLY liked how he got out of the bases-loaded jam and then was lights out the rest of the game - if he keeps that up, the rangers will have gotten great value for this contract

In email he had nothing nice to say...just whined about Yu walking too many people. falling behind and walking guys was how he got into that bases-loaded jam in the first place, and was the main cause for his struggles in previous outings (not necessarily reflected in his solid ERA, of course) - but when he FINALLY started getting ahead of hitters consistently and quit walking so damn many of them, his great stuff took control and he became dominant during the rest of that yankees game hopefully, we'll be seeing much more of that yu moving forward
