How good or bad are the Cowboys? Here's the criteria take any of the 4 teams in the AFC and NFC championship games who on the Cowboys could make their roster. You have to take into account the players age and contract then give me who you'd cut off of the other teams roster that's close to their contract amount. It's not as easy as saying Murray, Ware, Romo, Witten, explain yourself. Kinda and elementary school like show your work. Ware make $10 million yearly same as Romo. A good resource is rotoworld.comI'm shocked that I could only come up with 5 players at most on any team. We are so far away from a SuperBowl it ain't even funny.

Michael Boley 5 year $25 million Sean Lee 4 years $3,49 million is a no brainer.
I love Ware $79 million for 7 years means you could have both Jason Pierre-Paul $20.5 for 5 years and Osi Umenyiora $41 million for 7 years combined and save money.
Ware is the best pass rusher in football but over paid at $11 million yearly.
Canty and Ratliff is a good comparisons both make $7 million yearly but Ratliff is still being played out of position. So I'd take Canty seeing he's being utilized correctly.

I'd say on average they are bad late 90s early 2000s Knicks bad. Huge over inflated contracts for an aging under performing team.
