starting to hear we are going to sign BOTH darvish AND fielder
ranger execs were excited by how trim and in shape fielder was when they met with him the other day - not his usual fat ass self

I'll take Fielder/Darvish over Pujols/CJ...100% serious. Darvish may be a crap shoot, but I dont like CJ and Fielder is just getting into his prime while Pujols is great-grandpa aged.

24 hours left on the Darvish clock. It'll get done. He wants five years, we want six. Nolan is confident, so am I. Both would be awesome.

Twitter is alive with reports that the Darvish deal is pretty much done and it is 6 yrs (what the Rangers wanted).

www.dallasnews.com/sports/texas-rangers/headlines/20120118-report-rangers-will-sign-japanese-pitcher-yu-darvish-today.eceThe Texas Rangers will sign Japanese pitcher Yu Darvish ahead of the 4 p.m. CT deadline, according to Jon Heyman of CBS Sports. The deal is reported to be six years and for more than $52 miilion. Evan Grant reports that Darvish is in Japan and not at Rangers Ballpark in Arlington today. Texas last month bid a record $51.7 million under the posting system to win the right just to negotiate with the 25-year-old Darvish from the Hokkaido Nippon Ham Fighters of Japan's Pacific League. The deadline for a deal was 4 p.m. today. The 6-foot-5 Darvish, who has already undergone a physical for Texas, was home in Japan working out for the upcoming season while his agents, Arn Tellem and Don Nomura, talked with the Rangers this week. Darvish would pitch another season in Japan and the Rangers wouldn't pay the posting fee without a deal.

If we get them both, I'll feel like we were THIEVES IN THE TEMPLE, but maybe it is just a SIGN O THE TIMES. Getting Prince would make me DELIRIOUS. He could really GET OFF in our ballpark. I hope that doesn't spark CONTROVERSY. but what the hell...LETS GO CRAZY. I think he would ADORE it here. Do whatever it takes. Offer him DIAMONDS AND PEARLS

Deals for 6 years $60 million. So brings the total up to $111 or $18.5 per year.
Hope this works out for the Rangers we will see. To many Japanese pitchers have failed to deliver on the hype so far.
