Time to finish turning this roster over.
OL - Kosier and Holland have to go. Free and Smith have to flip sides. I don't care how bad the new young guys are. Get them on the roster and get them playing time. This OL is TERRIBLE.
DL - Need a big NT and move Ratliff to DE.
LB - James and Brooking have to go. Neither can physically make plays anymore. Carter shows a ton of athleticism. Time to find out if he and Lee can be the starters.
DBs - Newman has to go Scandrick needs to remain the nickle CB. We need at least 2 CBs that can play regularly. Safeties, we need an upgrade at least to one spot, but the ILBs are not doing these guys any favors. Bradie can't get a hand on a guy just to redirect him a little (which pushes him towards the safety AND slows him down giving the safety an extra step to get there...that step was the difference on the first TD tonight).
WRs, RB, TE, QB - all ok, but we need another developmental QB, backup RB, backup TE (Bennett will leave this off season).
The front 7 on both sides of the ball are pathetic. If Ware isn't getting pressure, there is none. It is embarrassing.

I agree with a majority of what you are saying.
Costa and Nagy would make for good depth on the OL plus they aren't over paid. I'd like to draft a center and pickup an experienced guard in free agency one that doesn't cost too much. You're right about Smith and Free switching sides. Seeing Free looked horrible against Cole that was bad.
The offense other then that is fine even if Robinson departs. So you know I don't wanna give Robinson a large contract no more over paying flash in the pan guys. They workout often like Romo but not enough to keep with the over payment for unproven talent.
Defense the Dline being so bad you don't know what you have in the secondary. We need two DE and a NT. I'm not sure they'll ever switch Ratliff so at this point I'm saying we need to draft his replacement or sign someone in free agency. But Cole, Spears, and Hatcher are low quality the only one seems to have moderate amount of talent is Hatcher.
LBs we needed to find out what we had in Carter bad coaching failed us again. So we go into 2012 not know if he is good bad or whatever. Brooking, James, Spencer all need to be gone. VB is keepable along with Ware and Carter but the rest nope. There are plenty of speed guy that can be drafted we need a athleticism upgrade.
Our secondary is confusing with such a poor line don't know how good or bad they are for sure. I know Newman needs to go no doubt there. Scandrick and Jenkins both I believe are good and can be here if we ever become good. The safeties, love our youth we are locked into the 4 guys we have it seems. So 2 corners I want speed guys that can play within a system don't need a shut down corner if a team can play as a team.
So defense we are talking about going outside the roster for 5 new starters and possibly being able to start VB or Carter as the 6th change. Offense a guard and center this year and a guard in 2013.

i agree with most, as well, but would argue that holland has actually been our 2nd best OL after tyron - free is the weakest link
think even though the defense needs more talent, rob ryan still needs to be held accountable

and disagree about robinson - NOT a flash in the pan
3rd best offensive player this season after romo and murray

I don't like the Cowboys overpaying unless there is a proven long track record, more then just one season or part of a season. Think you just complained about Free who had a 16 game flash in the pan stint that he cashed in on. We can't contine building like that. I said the same about Miles Austin he had a good 12 games and cashed in them has been injuries about 40% of the time, he was and is a flash in the pan.
All my good research resources got wiped out but interested in contract status of Fiametta and Bailey. Both were free agents so might be on a 1 year contract too.

I agree with you that we definitely don't want to overpay Robinson. But I also don't want to underestimate him as being just an interchangeable piece, and let him walk without even making him a fair offer. You guys might feel differently, but based on what I've seen from each of them throughout this season, I have more faith/confidence right now in Robinson than in Dez. Clearly, Dez has more talent/athletic ability and a greater upside - and I'm certainly not advocating giving up on him yet - but I think at the very least, Robinson is much more focused and dependable at this point. However, you make an EXCELLENT POINT about Free. I totally bought into him after last year, and he has absolutely spared us to death this year!

If you noticed Ferguson looked bad against Pierre Paul maybe even worse then Free. Sometime it's the other player being better. The left tackle is by far the hardest position to play on the OL. Next year he should be better at RT. The reason I want to only replace two OL members is if Free's a failure we can convert him to guard and keep improving at tackle with a first or second rounder in 2013.
Robinson will be paid and paid well to many teams need a one or two willing to pay and take on the risk. If he's willing to be paid as a 3rd receiver and not break the bank I have no problem with him. If not Harris has speed and will be active the rest of the season find out what you have next week with him.
The risk reward for a 3rd stringer isn't ever worth large money. Unless the 1st or 2nd guy is on their way out.

Worst OL/DL combination in football. This is embarrassing. Newman could not start at Kansas St right now.
