I'm just hoping the beginning of this season has been every bad thing that can go wrong, all at once. We've been injured all over the place, starting rookies, waiver wire pickups, etc. We have had a season's worth of stupid plays that have directly cost us 2 games (and 2 very gutsy games won).
The slate is clean. We are 2-2. We have all of our division games left except the one that we played (and won) vs Washington. We are in control of our destiny at this point.
We should come out of the bye week fairly healthy.
Jenkins should be better. Newman made it through his first couple of weeks clean. Scandrick should be back. Sensabaugh will be fine.
LBs are good and could be bolstered by Carter after week 6 (in practice) and week 8 (when he can be activated).
OL is starting to gel, as evidenced by that performance vs Suh and the motor city linemen.
Austin and Dez should be 100% and we've found our 3rd WR in Robinson.
We have a legit kicker (time to cut bait on Buehler, even Bailey's kickoffs are fine).
I think we're going to surprise New England (whether we win or just give them a good scare) and from there this team will start to blossom. I really think that is how their collective psyche will be with Ryan and Garrett pushing the buttons.
The caveat to that is, Romo must play more consistently. I can deal with a slight reduction in the number of "oh wow" plays if it means reducing the "holy crap...why did you do that" plays as well. This team has what it takes to HELP him. He doesn't have to carry them. He needs to know that. Garrett needs to call the game that way. If Garrett called games for Tony the same way he did with Kitna (conservatively) we would be very scary.
