Simms or Brooks would be able to maintain the ship, I think, for a little bit. Especially with the OL and weapons they have at the skill positions.

Just read this:
Brooks Bollinger visits 2:22 PM Tue, Sep 02, 2008 | Permalink | Yahoo! Buzz Todd Archer E-mail News tips The Cowboys will not make a move at No. 3 quarterback until next week at the earliest but they had their leading candidate, Brooks Bollinger, in for a visit to Valley Ranch.

So we need a QB that couldn't even make it as a 3rd QB behind Jackson?

So we need a QB that couldn't even make it as a 3rd QB behind Jackson? GOODPOINT Of course, Chrissy Simms finished third in a three-way one-day QB competition at Baltimore that included JOEY HARRINGTON.

Now Joey Harrington is a person I would have liked her. I think you can fix him. He was destroyed from taking to many sacks.

Just like David Carr. He looks OK in NY with the G-Men. I think I would much rather Jason Garrett take over if Romo gets hurt.

I like Harrington ok...same for Carr. I think both of them are close to being relegated to career-backup status though. They have gotten a couple of shots at starting and didn't do much with it. Of course, those were bad situations. I don't mind career backup guys though. Garrett was great here in that capacity. It was good not having to worry about backup QB year after year. I'd love to have a younger QB (late 20s is fine) that could play Romo's caddy for the next 5-8 years. I'm ok with Bollinger in that capacity for now...see what he looks like with real weapons and a good OL.

Carr or Harrington would be great in those roles. Then we are stuck with a kid that couldn't even make the vikings roster. Those kids I would have faith in if Romo went down for 2 games. Maybe even could win us a play off game in a pinch.

I think both Carr and Harrington have the ability to be one of those career backup guys that have one breakout year once they are surrounded by alot of talent (Scott Mitchell, Kurt Warner, Jon Kitna, Rich Gannon).

Dude I got to give it to Kitna he has been good for awhile. He may throw a pick a game but will throw 3 TDs.

Brooks has signed with the Cowboys wonder if Brad will be cut? I think Brad sticks around this year and retires next year, making Brooks the full time backup with a year of Cowboys coaching behind him...

I think Brad sticks around this year and retires next year, making Brooks the full time backup with a year of Cowboys coaching behind him... my thoughts exactly give bollinger a full year to learn the system, then he becomes romo's long-term backup, as they are both around the same age
