They took a step backswards after last week. I enjoyed the scenes with the Queen of Louisana. (Watching them play Yatzee was pretty funny). The parts of the episodes set in Bon Temps was way too slow. Last week looked like they were setting up the conflict and too much of this epiosde felt like treading water.
Here were some other good points...
The scenes at the Queen's house were a new kind of weird... and they felt like she was amusing herself like a Queen would with her 'subjects'.
Lafayette's hallucination when his aunt pulled the gun on him. The actor playing Lafayette was good throughout this episode. Nice talk between Jason and Andy in the truck at the end.
"Don't you know any other vampires?" "He can fly!" LOL at Eric and Pam and their discussions of the tasty smelly children. It was funny but I was also worried either would harm the children at any moment as well - nicely played to be both menacing and funny at the same time.

Susan rented the first two discs from Season One over the weekend, and we watched the first four episodes. The brother is too full throttle f-ing anything that moves all crazy everywhere. Dangit, I could have given you the copies for free! It would have cost me expensive blank DVDs.

This is probably the best season of any series on HBO, I think even better then season 2 of the Sopranos.

This is the second-biggest whip thread on the forum, after the Sarah Conner thread. I take it back. Me and Susan just finished Season One on DVD, and it is greatness - WAYYYYYYYYYYYYYY better than that Twilight crap! Hate to see some of the best characters die, like Rene' and Lafayette. When I saw the "AIDS burgers" episode, I could only imagine how much hyena laughing Junior must have done. Now, my favorite character is probably Terry, Mr. PTSD. Also, good to see Frank Sobotka from The Wire on here still STRAH-GAH-LING (as the loser detective). The Sheriff is always greatness, except they should have had his brother Darryl and his other brother Darryl as the Deputies. Need to figure out what's the deal with Big Salad from Seinfeld. I think she's been putting up Tara just so she can get to Sam - but why??? Is she a pig shape-shifter? Sookie's brother is such a dumbass - stupidest character ever. Although I did like it when he tried to help Bill Dauterive vampire. If you have the DVDs, go back and watch the episode where they first kidnapped him. The way he's screaming when they are carrying him out to the truck sounds EXACTLY like when he's on King of the Hill. Has Season Two come out on DVD yet?

This show peaked 2 episodes ago...the season finale was one of the dumbest I have ever seen. The way Mary Anne meet her demise was extremely silly, as was her overacting throughout the ordeal. Her blood orgasm after Sam was stabbed was some of the worst acting I have ever seen...Seeing more of the queen playing Yahtzee was a whip but it was interesting that she was behind the V sales in Bon Temps...Sookie was WAY to forgiving of Tara and Eggs after they trashed her house...The way Eggs was finished off was really dumb...The cliff hanger ending had no real intrigue at all. I knew Bill was not going to be there when Sookie got back although I didn't think it would be like that. After Erik had said he would deal with Bill, it kind of takes the mystery out of who kidnapped him...After that episode, Arla and I both may be out on next season. Maybe Vampire Diaries on CW is the way to go from now on...

True Blood ended it’s 2nd season and I thought they did a pretty good job of wrapping up the storylines while leaving a few threads for next year.
A nice wrap up to Mary Ann’s story line. Bill was able to use the information given to him by the Queen (love that character by the way) to destroy Mary Ann. It was a good scene seeing the bull show up in the moonlight and Mary Ann going to her spouse. I don’t normally applaud violence but I have to admit, I loved seeing her get hers. I like that they showed at least a little of the aftermath.
At the end of the 1st season, I wasn’t a big fan of Jessica. I am totally surprised how much I’ve grown to like her. I was pulling for her and Hoyt and liked that they had their relationship as one of the storylines for next season. The scene at the Truck stop was a nice twist.
Speaking of great twists, the Queen is the one having Eric sell V. I wonder what is her ultimate goal? That and what happened to Bill are at least a few of the mysteries left till next season (and how will Sookie ever get her Gram’s house clean again?)

I think it is Hoyt that got Bill at the end.

We finished watching the first six episodes of Season Two yesterday. We got all the way up to the pending sacrifice of Sam The Shape-Shifting Dog Man. Those black-eye orgies are all full throttle, with Bull Lady (Big Salad) going all vibrating crazy everywhere. Terry The Short Order PTSD Cook was really putting it to that annoying red-headed waitress chick, and Tara was getting EGGS OVER EASY.
Everybody's getting big orgy action, except for Sobotka from The Wire, because he's all drunk demoted deputy detective everywhere.
I'm starting to think the teenage vampire chick is kind of hot. Hoyt (The Fake Tim Robbins) needs to tear that up, so we can get a look at those BFs. VERY nice. Wouldn't mind seeing Bill's maker, either.

Bill's maker never gets naked either but her blood threesome scene is good schtick.
