The Ticket is saying that the Stars are under the salary cap minimum. Sort of think it is funny that even if they have no owner and lots of money issues, they have to find someone to sign.
Of course since it is hockey, no one will care.

stars need an owner with money...where the heck is Todd Wagner (Cuban's old business partner) in all of this? I thought he tried to buy them a while back. He and Cuban could go from being roommates in a 2br apt back in the day to being co-tenants at the AAC.

Richards wasn't signing here because if the unstable ownership situation. Of the 6 free agents they signed Friday, 4 are solid. One is a project D and the other is a Ranger-esque low risk, high reward guy (Sheldon Souray, a rumored Star for the past 4 years). Very solid moves by the club. They had to do something because of how far below the minimum salary floor they were. I'm excited about every season, but now I'm really intrigued about what they will look like come October.

Of course since it is hockey, no one will care. I love hockey. It's probably right behind football as far as my favorite to watch and it is by far the best sport to attend. Playoff hockey will win out over anything that is on at the time.
