I'm suprised they cut bait on Amendola, Loewber and Jefferson considering their current WR inury situation. They will probably bring one of them in for the practice squad along with Bartell and maybe George...

I don't know if Bartell will make it to the practice squad. Amendola, Lowber, & Jefferson will probably sneak through. I don't think Amendola did enough during the pre-season to get anyone's attention, so he probably won't get picked up by another team.

I don't think Bartell will have much trouble getting to the practice squad. He hasn't been very good very often. He had one decent game, but not enough to put him ahead of alot of guys that did get cut yesterday (or guys that may be available via trade from what I've read).
I would bet Walden and Lattimore are locks if they get through waivers.
Same for Marcus Dixon and Dowayne Davis. (I think I got the right Marcus)
If Amendola or Lowber get through I think they'll make it...obviously Lowber has more upside if he can figure out the game. Amendola has a chance to be a niche player, a slot WR and returner but he could never be more than a #3 so if he doesn't get through its not a big deal.

cutting all those WRs makes me think that SOMETHING must be up...either that or we are just going to play smashmouth for 2 or 3 weeks...run the ball 40 times per game.

Nah...I don't see 40 rush attempts. If they play with only 2 Wrs on the roster, Witten will be added as a WR, Felix could be used as a slot WR, Bennett/Curtis could then take over the TE position until all the injured WRs get back.

I don't know. I could see Barber getting 25 easily. Throw in 8 or 9 for Felix and then Tony always has a few rushes just scrambling around...that puts you right at 40. Best part is, we are about to find out! |
