if cuban was the spurs owner, they'd still be good over the next few years, instead of plummeting toward the lottery

but alas he owns the Mavs....last seen sparing it up against OKC....why can't Dirk make a free throw? Something wrong with that guy...he should stick to Geico commercials.

15 shots for 48 points is the most efficient playoff game ever.

A few months ago Junior Miller mentioned on The Little Ticket that Tom Brady is still obsessed that he wasn't drafted early enough by any NFL team. They also mentioned that Tiger acts like he has a poster of Jack in his bedroom and he is obsessed with beating his Major record. They then mentioned that Romo seems to not be obsessed that he was an undrafted free agent that he is just happy, he feels like he's playing with house money. That makes for a good life but doesn't light a sports fire under your arse. Dirk seems to have found the balance. He seems happy, he seems pretty mellow but it seems to me that in EVERY interview he mentions the 2006 finals. He isn't treating it like a monkey on his back he's treating it as a motivational tool. I can just picture him sitting in Grubes house media room, playing game 3 of the 2006 series against Miami over and over again praying to the Basketball gods that if he was ever given another chance, he wouldn't take it for granted. I'm been like a lot of Maverick fans prior to this run. I've been burned too many times to put much faith in the team. I like them but I'm not going to get my hopes up. At this point, I'm totally buying in to the thought that this team is going to leave it all on the floor (hate to use a sports cliché but...) when this run ends. They may not make it all the way but if they don't it won't be because they didn't play with effort and didn't do all they could do (on both sides of the court) to make it happen.

It is just like 2006. This team will go as far as the rest of the group will allow it. Dirk can really carry a load like he did last night, but without Barea and Terry lighting it up last night we would have lost that game anyway. One guy just isn't enough. If Terry and Barea (or anyone else, doesn't really matter who) can stay hot we'll be fine. The problem is (against Miami, Golden State, San Antonio, etc) when those guys go cold our one star just isn't enough. We need them to keep rolling.
JJB sure doesn't show any signs of letting up and Terry is confident. They keep this streak up for 7 more wins and this team will have its first title. If Terry slumps like he did in 2006 and nobody steps up, we'll be in trouble.

And by the way, I'm not expecting to just roll through OKC and if we get past them I don't expect to sweep the east title holder either. 7 more wins...7 more good games from the bench and role players. That is all I want. Its just hard to buy into it fully knowing that Terry and those guys can go so cold at any time, and when they do they'll just keep firing.

As long as that whip Frankenstein owns the Mavs, I can never root for them... "Ohhhh tooooo baaaaddddd............................but." but if he was your owner, you'd be bobbin that knob. +5

I think the Bulls/Heat will put up MUCH more opposition than OKC will...home court could decide it.

As we thought this is going to be tough. It was good to see the Mavericks hold them to under 100 on Saturday night. Look forward to Monday night.
