Ed Helms will host Saturday Night Live on May 14 to promote The Hangover II and solidify his position as the undercover best person on The Office. NBC also confirmed that Tina Fey will host on May 7 with musical guest Ellie Goulding, and that Justin Timberlake and Lady Gaga will be on the season finale on May 21.
Helms was recently a guest on "WTF with Marc Maron," where he talked about where he thought his career was headed before he landed a gig on The Daily Show. "I always sort of thought I'd get a Saturday Night Live audition at some point," he said wistfully, but he never did. (Alas, the rest of the story was cut off when Helms's cat allergy overtook him.) Helms also threw down some ferocious banjo jams, so perhaps he'll duet on SNL with musical guest Paul Simon, who these days seems pretty into singing with charming comedy guys who have some musical chops too.
