Saw this over the weekend, I thought it was great. Jeff Bridges does a great Slingblade impersonation as Rooster and the little girl with the sassy mouth had some great lines. Decent action and the story was interesting. My only compliant was the final showdown between the little girl and Tom Cheney seemed a little anti-climactic. Other than that, it was a great watch. Since it has been out a few weeks already, catch it at the dollar matinee...

Supposedly this was pretty true to the book though, so if that is how the final scene was written maybe that is why it played out that way. I never read it, so I can't say.
It was different from the John Wayne version, one of my favorite old westerns, but not in a bad way.
Good flick...highly recommended.
