Impressive win by the Mavs Friday night in Boston after we won in LA...I was hoping we would be up like 10 games by now but props to Dallas for keeping within striking distance. Our remaining head to head in March will probably mean alot down the stretch...

except that when it comes to us (SA and Dallas) home court rarely matters...whoever is hot at the moment advances. I know we don't fear any team on the road and I know the Spurs are the same way.

To me, seeding is more important in having a less congested mine field in the playoffs than the actual home court advantage itself. I would rather go through Phoenix and OKC before Dallas than going through maybe Portland and LA...

Dallas bumped Boston down to No. 3 -- at least for one week -- by winning on the Celtics' floor Friday night to go with a December home win over the C's. It was the Mavs' 11th road win of the season against teams with records of .500 or better, four more than the teams tied for second place in that category: San Antonio and Boston.

I still think there is a strong change they do a deal. I wish the three team deal Gary worked out would go through...

Yeah, I still fear the top tier teams in a 7 game series. We've seen good play recently from JET and JJB. I don't think that they will maintain that in a long series against good defensive teams, and then we are right back where we were before...teams triple teaming Dirk and daring ANYONE else to beat them, and nobody will.
If we don't do a deal, it is going to take a hell of a hot streak by those guys for us to advance.

They have their roles, but I just don't feel good knowing they are relied upon to score off the bench. JJB is a huge defensive liabilty. The only saving grace is that he is good at drawing the charge. JET has always confused me. He's quicker than all get out, but he can't keep his man in front of him.

JJB is drawing charges right now...he won't get many of those calls in the playoffs.
