SOURCE FOR JUNIOR:cowboysblog.dallasnews.com/archives/2008/08/dolphins-want-fourthrounder-for-beck.htmlAt least that's what an NFC executive told the Miami Herald.
Jerry has been generous in helping old pal Bill Parcells with the rebuilding project in South Florida, but forget about the Cowboys giving up a fourth-rounder for Miami's fourth-string quarterback. Heck, the Cowboys won't give up a mid-round pick for Chris Simms, and he's at least proven something in the NFL.
The Cowboys ought to value fourth-round picks as much as anybody, given the success of Marion Barber and Chris Canty.

The Cowboys ought to value fourth-round picks as much as anybody, given the success of Marion Barber and Chris Canty. I would do a conditional 4th, dependent on him making the team and beating out Johnson. If he ends up just taking Bartell's spot, he is only worth a 6th or 7th...

Why not wait and sign Beck or McCown when they get cut?

Why not wait and sign Beck or McCown when they get cut? I'm guessing to get one of them time to acclimate to the Cowboys offense before the season starts...

If that's the case, I wuoldn't want to give up anything but a 7th.

I'd give them a 6 that could go as high as 4 IF playing time incentives are met...then ONLY if Romo got hurt and Beck ended up starting alot of games would it move up significantly...like if he started 12 or more games this season. Of course, if the season was in the crapper you could start him 11 times and run some retreads out there a few times and save your pick (since it might be a high 4 if Romo was hurt).

Why not wait and sign Beck or McCown when they get cut? The line forms behind teams like Pittsburgh, Chicago, and Minnisota. Why wait and chance it. Offer up a 6th now and take McCown then cut Johnson's sorry ass.

Screw me. Good points. Go and offer a conditional 6th, quick.

Way to many teams setup to make a superbowl run with a horrible backup.
