I think it would take a #1 and a few spare parts (Spears, Carpenter)...I would pull the trigger on it. Boldin is a young stud and, once TO hangs them up, could easily slide into a #1 receiver spot.

I'd do a 1 this year, spare parts (Carp, etc) and I'd consider tossing in something next year too (not another 1 or 2, but maybe a 3 or something).
We would be KILLERS if we got this deal done...who the heck do you TRY to stop? TO? Witten? Boldin? MB3 and that HUGE offensive line? I just don't know what you'd do against us. On top of that, it would improve our defense. Scoring early in the game and putting the other team in a hole, putting them under pressure immediately and then turn the dogs loose (Ware, Spencer, Canty, Ratliff, Tank, Ellis, etc)....next thing you know it is pick-6 for Newman, Henry, Pacman, etc.....awesome! I think I just talked myself into a 1 this year, spare parts, and a 2 next year...that is about as high as I'd go though. I'm just thinking our 1 is basically a 2 and our 2 is basically a 3 if we do what we are supposed to do and win it all.

A 1 & a 2 the following yr plus getting rid of Carp or Spears. Offense would be out of control. Teams would abandon the run game very quickly.

We would be destroying people...would LOVE to just spend a game here or there bulldozing people and watching Barber and Felix running wild...then turn the passing game loose and embarrass the feebles, foreskins, and midgets.

So is there a preference between Boldin or Williams? Seems they both would serve the purpose of taking over the #1 WR spot when TO retires/leaves.

I think I'd prefer Williams but really its a tossup. Boldin has been more durable. Williams is more of a deep threat. I think either could be the #1. Boldin is probably more like TO though...I don't care...get either one and I'd be MORE than ok.

I would prefer Boldin, he doesn't have the injury questions that Williams has had in the past.

I think I lean towards Boldin. Williams is big & fast, but something makes me feel Boldin will be more dependable, steady #1.
