Starter played great, we are weak at QB behind Romo already knew that though. Like our secondary going to be stiller. We only have 2 good backups on the OL little thin. Team looked good as I said can't wait to see them next week.

Pros: *Starters on both sides of the ball looked great. *Barber looked ready to run for at least 1200+ behind that O-line. *Crayton decided to hold onto the ball this game, let's hope it is a sign of things to come. *I liked what I saw from Jenkins, he looks like he can play. *Tank will be a beast on the D line, especially with Ellis and Ware collapsing the outside of the pocket. *Myles Austin seems to be getting it and showing he can at least be a Kelvin Martin, Kevin Williams type for us. *Our 2 young RB's showed me alot. Felix Jones will be Julius Jones 2005, which is VERY nice. Choice looks like a very solid all pupose back should we lose Barber for any amount of time.
Cons: *Our special teams coverages are TERRIBLE...we may need to go out and sign some coverage specialist to help out (Kenny Gant, Steve Tasker-types) because what we are trotting out there now won't get it done against good teams. *Pacman has alot of work to do to get back to his 2006 form. *Brad Johnson is done, I hope we are checking the waiver wires for future backups until the start of the season. *Our 2nd team O-line either is not getting enough reps in practice or just flat out suck. They certainly didn't help Brad Johnson's cause in being the #2. *I would give Amendola another week but he certainly isn't showing to me that he should be on the 53 man roster.
All in all, I think our first teams showed us that they are legit contenders in the NFC, let's just hope they stay healthy enough to make our backup defencies not as noticeable...

OK, for partial payback for Junior setting the game up where I could download it, I said I'd come post here about it. I haven't watched it all yet but here are my current thoughts:
Offense looks great under Romo. The 2nd team OL had some struggles but we'll see how the progress with the GREAT Hudson Houck coaching them. Good thing we are pretty much pro-bowlers across the line on the first team. The starters didn't get alot of time, but this is an offense that set team records last year under a first time coordinator. With Romo progressing, Houck on board, Felix taking Julius' spot and everyone else having another year in the system, I expect this offense to be even more powerful this year. PRAY for Romo...Dave is right, our depth at QB is non-existent and SCARY.
Defense looked good early. I expect we'll see alot of that this year with our D dominating games. Even without Newman and no real blitzing, we looked good.
I'm not concerned about special teams at all right now. First, half of those guys will be working at Home Depot in a month. 2nd, it was the very first playoff game against a very good special teams unit. I will wait until the next to last preseason game to get too worked up about that. Special teams can be fixed quickly by using good players in their normal spots. Also, I've read very little about any real special teams work so far in the blogs and at ranchreport.com.
Brad Johnson has to go. I think McCown is the odd man out in Miami and he is a great fit. His skillset is similar to Romo. Strong arm, athletic, can move around well. He isn't nearly as good, but that is why we are talking about him as a backup. He did look decent in some starts for AZ a while back. He is still young (29) and he is a Texas kid. This is something that needs to be done soon though. He needs to be here learning the offense. Unlike special teams, this is more time-sensitive.
Felix Jones is going to be a monster. He is a bigger Reggie Bush, but much cheaper and it seems like he is down to earth..no ego. He is ready to accept his role as a change of pace guy that touches the ball maybe 12-15 times a game between runs, catches, and returns.
Witten is (still) the answer as our #2 WR. We just need a guy to take the actual #2 WR spot from Crayton and send him back to the slot role because he is very good at that.
I won't call Amendola a failed bit yet...but it might be nice to see him struggle a little now so we can get him through waivers and put him on the practice squad for a year.

Weakest part of our team depth at QB. It worries me. Brad can't go into this season as our backup. That is putting way to much hope Romo plays a season injury free.
