USA smoked Argentina this morning but they gave them a little scare by closing it to 6 in the 2nd quarter. Losing Ginoboli in the 1st quarter for the game kind of killed any legit chance they had...
As a Spurs fan, that ankle injury Manu suffered did not look good at all...Pop should be absolutely furious that he risked playing on it at all after they way it killed the Spurs chances in the West finals...

Good game. Got to watch it at work today. 2nd quarter was very bad defesively. They still shot too many 3s in the first half. They seemed to take them lightly when Manu got hurt.
Spain should be put away early, just like in group play.

They were on their way to the huge 1st quarter lead with Manu in the game. They would have beaten them. They let their foot off the gas when he got hurt, that is was allowed Arg. to come back in the 2nd.

Reason the US team is so awesome and so deep, injuries couldn't hurt them at all.

Argentina is a good team, wonder would could have been if Ginoboli didn't get hurt. I don't think Ginoboli would of made much of a difference. The U.S. tore them apart in the first quater. Actually Ginoboli not being in there is what helped Argentina get back into the game. U.S. really started relaxing and once they started playing zone on them they shot to many 3's. By the way is there any sport that Argentina doesn't cry foul about. They are a good team I wish they would stop including acting into their game plan. |
