they were comparing the moves on the ticket this morning - george thinks they're pretty much all upgrades, but junior miller was meh-ing them. i tend to agree with george:
mayo upgrade over JET
kaman upgrade over haywood
brand upgrade over mahinmi
collison upgrade over kidd (based on age, of course)

Did you see a title team 2 years ago? I can't think of anyone that did. Point is, it is a better team. Younger, more athletic, etc. Nobody on this team will provide what Chandler did, but there are things Kaman and Brand can do that Chandler can't (like score and bang with big centers). I don't know if Mayo is BETTER than Terry, but he can be. We've never seen him on a team with a guy like Dirk. Collison is certainly not Kidd from a leadership perspective, but he should be able to play with guys like Westbrook alot better. I like this team, and I'll take my chances with it. |

I don't know if Mayo is BETTER than Terry, but he can be. Like the Collison-Kidd comparison, I think this is one based primarily on age. JET is definitely in the twilight of his career and in major decline. At his peak, he was way better than Mayo is (and probably will ever be), but right now Mayo is a better option. |

Brand had the 2nd-lowest FG% against among all post players last year (Camby was 1st), so he definitely brings solid interior defense.
