Even more appropriate today than it was Friday night...

What a F@*KING beat-down. That is the best I've felt after a Mavs game in 5 years.
It wouldn't bother me for Odom and Bynum to catch the AID and have to retire from basketball. Both of those pieces of $hit just rocketed up my hate list.

Rick Carlisle on Jackson's retirement:
"My belief is he'll retire for a while, but I don't know how long you can go to Montana and meditate and smoke peyote or whatever he does there. He's gonna get bored."

I just hope game 4 doesn't make them go back to the jumpshooting Mavs we have known in th past. They need to remember to drive the ball and keep playing awesome defense. I have never seen a Mavs team play defense this way. Just amazing to watch.

I don't really have a problem with how that game unfolded. I believe in driving to the basket and I believe that is fundamental basketball. However, I also believe in going with what works. When you have guys that are 15 of 16 from 3, they can keep shooting until they miss 2 or 3 in a row...then you have to re-focus and start driving again. You know sometimes you'll see a guy jack up a 3 after hitting a few shots and the announcers will say "that's a heat-check"? Well, JET and Peja were on fire and they knew it. If you hit your heat-check, you can just keep firing.
If they start missing them later it is on them (and/or Carlisle) to get them back to driving the ball. However, that was just like a 500 yard passing day in the NFL. If the defense is going to give you all the long TDs you want, just just keep taking them. You don't run dive plays to the FB instead.
