All the stories I was hearing the last half of this season were that he was turning the corner. This nightclub thing in Miami is nothing. Some jackass talking shit, thinking he might be able to sue a millionaire for money. Dez didn't fight him. Nobody was arrested, there was not even a police report filed. It is NOTHING.
Anybody that thinks we should cut Dez right now is stupid and has no idea what they are talking about.
Dez being sued over non-payment for jewelry is no reason to cut someone. I think Jimmy Robinson is doing a good job with him and I think Garrett's more disciplined approach is starting to reach him.
Do you have any idea how badly it could set us back to spend 2+ years developing Dez and living through his growing pains only to cut him and watch him turn into a star somewhere else? Look at the shadow Moss cast over this team for a decade and he was an actual bad guy that got arrested for breaking the law, AND he was never even on our team. What if we had Moss for 2 years, cut him, and THEN he blew up? It would have been twice as bad.

I don't think we could afford to cut our biggest potential playmaker but, he if he doesn't get his head right with ball, he will end up being Antonio Bryant.

Ordinarily, I would want to try and hope things end up working out with Dez, but I'd hate for him to continue flaming out while Robinson goes elsewhere and lights it up. Dez CLEARLY has superior athleticism and explosivity compared to Robinson, but which of the two will truly and more consistently deliver quality production in seasons to come? It's a legitimate question, especially if Dez doesn't clean up his act.

And I guess what is most troubling to me isn't that this one altercation took place in Miami (even if it's been blown out of proportion), it's that we keep hearing these stories about Dez over and over. Each story individually on its own isn't that big a deal (Northpark, sued by jeweler, excessive team fines, disowned by Deion, miami nightclub fracas, etc.), but cumulatively they are cause for concern.

so every 4 months or so, someone gets mad at Dez. The only thing that matters to me is him being late to meetings. The rest is not important. From the stuff I read, he got better at that this past year.
According to Broaddus, his route running improved greatly this past year. Then you realize that this is a kid that played 2 years of college, missed the last season because he lied to the NCAA about something that he was scared about, but he actually broke no rules (other than lying). Then his rookie year is largely lost to injury.
So, in 2 years he played in a few games. Is it possible he is still learning the nuances of the position? No doubt his progress is slowed by his own immaturity but that should improve as he ages, and I think that is starting to happen. Lets not forget that Robinson has been around for 5 years in the NFL and mostly in this same offense. He has 3 years of learning on Dez.
When he does something that is ACTUALLY bad, then we can have a conversation about if he should be cut. But for this stuff? You've got to be kidding me. Didn't Jimmy used to tell us that he cut John Roper for sleeping in meetings but if Irvin was sleeping he'd get him a pillow? Be patient. You have a potential star on your team and he isn't costing you alot of money. Again though, this IS a reason to make sure you re-sign Robinson. Austin and Dez (for different reasons) can't be completely trusted just yet.

As far as fines seems like if he's wanting to work for free keep him around. If the fines made his salary cap number lower, I would be onboard with it also...

just read (fox sports southwest) that the person Dez fought with was Lil Wayne. Now I wish Dez DID get arrested because I wish he knocked that no talent little bitch out. Fuckin toy soldier wanna be gangster is shorter than me, messin with Dez who is huge. Just another prime example of a little bitch that will run his mouth in public where he knows he won't get the ass whooping he deserves.

he is a little punk bitch....apparently he does go on there. I've never seen him on there but I don't watch that show. I googled their names and some clips of the shows came up. If I did an unfiltered search it would probably turn up those 2 starring in some of your dad's old movies.
