yeah, hard to say how much of it was just him and how much was the poor play everywhere else...either way he has to play much better but I think he will with better coaching and if he isn't worried about everybody else screwing up too. and let's all remember that fisher was a db when he played, so that's another strong bullet point in favor of hiring him

another HUGE benefit of Fisher (if he was to come here) is bringing Mike Munchak as the OL coach. This is a guy who almost NEVER has the same group for 2 years in a row. They are always working in new rookies and guys they develop because they don't pay to keep veterans. Despite that, they run the ball very well and protect the QB year after year. Here is a good article about him. bleacherreport.com/articles/186640-mike-munchak-the-true-anchor-of-the-titans-offensive-line

I agree with JJT from the Dallas Morning News, Jerry should interview a lot of people for the job if for no other reason to get their thoughts on what needs to be done with the team. We need to do a complete overhaul of the offensive line (that will take a couple of years). We should do nothing fancy in the draft, get the best players possible. Training camp should be in one place and it should be a true training camp not a marketing tool (that won't happen but this is a wish list). That's just a few thoughts.

I think Jerry will do several interviews, but Fisher is just the best guy out there. The only coach that might be better is Belichick (IMO).
As for training camp, as long as it is in one place it should be fine. The HOF game and 2 different camps in 2 different states wasn't ideal, but if Wade would have put them in pads every day and made them hit it would not have been the end of the world.
Having 3 days in pads in camp and NONE during the season is just crazy...but that is how old Coach Cupcake wanted it.
If we do one camp in San Antonio or one in Oxnard, it should be fine. They need to be outside more...and they need to hit EVERY day. I liked Parcell's rule of making all the linemen wear knee braces in practice. That helps prevent injuries during practice for those guys in the trenches.

By the way, whether I do or not, I'll never admit to agreeing with JJT after his article 2 weeks ago proclaiming we should all cheer for the Eagles since Dallas is out of it. That was the worst piece of garbage I have ever read.

Interesting article from Tard Archer: espn.go.com/blog/dallas/cowboys/post/_/id/4680170/sizing-up-cowboys-run-at-nnamdi-asomughaIn his Monday Morning Quarterback column, Sports Illustrated’s Peter King rated the Cowboys as the second-favorite to land cornerback Nnamdi Asomugha in free agency.
He had Philadelphia at the top of the list. I can’t disagree with it and it’s something we’ve talked about here for the last few months.
Here’s what Peter wrote:
2. Dallas. Go back in history. Remember when Jerry Jones, against the wishes of son Stephen, gave Deion Sanders a $13 million signing bonus in 1995 to come to Dallas? (Jerry thought his son was going to punch him over it.) Jones has the ability to fit Asomugha under his cap. With Tony Romo and DeMarcus Ware the only huge-money players on the roster, the Joneses can find a way to shoehorn an Asomugha contract into the fold.
I’m not sure the Cowboys have the ability to fit Asomugha under the cap so easily. The best way for the Cowboys to sign the Pro Bowler would be to have the 2010 rules in place in which there is no cap. The Cowboys already have $136.6 million committed to a cap in 2011 and that does not include draft picks.
They would need to create significant cap room to sign Asomugha, who averaged $15 million a year the last two years in Oakland. You can create some by re-working the deals for Romo, Ware and Miles Austin and you would likely have to cut players, like Marion Barber, Marc Colombo and Terence Newman, too.
One thing Peter did not mention when connecting the dots to the Cowboys is new defensive coordinator Rob Ryan. From what I’m told, Asomugha loved playing for him in Oakland and would not be opposed to reuniting.

You can re-work the contract of BIGG and Ratliff as well as cutting the guys you mentioned (although Newman was playing great before he got hurt...you might just re-work his deal to make him cheaper).
If the deadskins can find a way to sign players every single year to huge deals, we can do it every 5 or 6 years easily. The money can be found. Asomugha won't make anywhere near $15M for this contract. I've read that from several credible sources. I think Ryan works heavily in our favor, not to mention we are better than Philly. He can Philly better and MAYBE catch up to us, or he can help put us over the top. Which makes more sense?

How much will Huff command in FA? Is it possible to land both?

Huff won't cost much...there are other safeties out there too. None of these guys (safeties) are worth more than a 2 year deal. I'd be looking to sign a vet for a year or two and see what Ryan can do with all the young guys we have on the roster.

Bigg, Barber, Roy and probably Columbo gone...
Onboard? I liked all 3 cuts although Columbo would be a solid backup if they could resign him to a reduced rate. If Kosier doesn't come back, we will have some major holes to fill on the O-line. right now we are looking at
Smith ? Gurode ? Free
Anyone out there we should be looking at outside of maybe resigning Kosier? I really wish we would have drafted that high rated guard (forgot his name) in the 2nd round instead of Demarco Murray...

Kosier signed yesterday afternoon. One less hole to fill in the OL. I read that the Jets are high on signing Asomugha so he and Revis could just play man all game.
