I watched this as part of a 2-fer with The Rocker...very cool movie. I was going in expecting some cheesey 'Fast and Furious' meets 'Mad Max' action but the story and action were much better than I thought they would be. Statham does a good job with the action and racing scenes and Joan Allen plays a pretty believable villian. The races themselves kind of played out like a video game (Mario Cart to be exact) because, in order to use any weapons or defense, you have to drive over symbols on the track that activate stuff. It was silly but at least different than the normal shoot em ups and added a little strategy to the matches. I give it a thumbs up but do bargain matinee if you can't wait for big DVD...

Did they shoot turtle shells at each other and leave banana peels behind so others would spin-out on them?

Did they shoot turtle shells at each other and leave banana peels behind so others would spin-out on them? Kind of...replace turtle shells with missles and banana peels with napalm and oil slicks...very Spy Hunter-ish... I almost forgot, the trailers were kind of cool too since they had one for the new "Fast and Furious", which starts the original cast (Vin Diesel, Michelle Rodriguez, Paul Walker). Also, the new Transporter 3 trailer was there as well...

Fast and Furious with original cast...very cool.
Guess none of them were doing much else...well, Michelle Rodriguez was going LOST but after all the DUIs she got, maybe she needed some extra bail money.

That is what my S-10 had back in the day. All I had to do was turn the A/C off and it would send me flying forward.

I wonder if the makers of Twisted Metal will be demanding royalties from the people who stole their idea for this movie.
