  The Rangers have traded veteran reliever Eddie Guardado to the Twins for Minor League pitcher Mark Hamburger. Guardado, a left-hander, was 3-3 with a 3.65 ERA in 55 games with the Rangers this year and had been their little-used closer for the past two weeks after C.J. Wilson underwent surgery. He'll be a setup reliever for the Twins. Guardado pitched for the Twins from 1993-2003 and set a club record with 45 saves in 2002. He saved 41 games for them in 2003. Hamburger was 1-2 with a 4.17 ERA for the Elizabethton Twins in the Rookie Appalachian League. He saved 13 games and was the league's Closer of the Year. The Rangers are calling up left-hander Bill White from Triple-A Oklahoma to replace Guardado on the Major League roster. |
