Tami is watching some show on Bravo and I saw AJ on the TV. It was a commercial promoting the fact that now North Texas Nissan off 35E on the way up to Denton is now owned by him. Avery Johnson North Texas Nissan. Interesting.

What's next? Avery Johnson buys XCW Wrestling and demands it moves to another channel, confusing Mav TV with the Dallas Mavericks?
In all seriousness, hope this venture works out for him. Just my opinion, but I felt he kinda got a raw deal with the prima donnas players he had to deal with.

I was Avery's biggest supporter but he abandoned this team. He was TERRIBLE for the last year. He refused to make adjustments that needed to be made and he is an egomaniac. He wanted all the glory when things were good and none of the blame when things went bad.
In the beginning, there was nobody I wanted coaching this team more than Avery. By the end, there was nobody I wanted gone more than him.

I got really tired really quick of this quote after games,"We took too many jump shots tonight. We need to start driving to the basket." After hearing that in the Finals and then against Golden State, made me want to vomit each time I head it last season. It was pretty obvious that he lost the team after losing to G.S.

Will he trade for Damp? He was pretty adamant about bringing him here.

You may not want him after his cinder block hands drop passes when he is wide open under the basket. Or when he just doesn't feel like playing D because he didn't get some early touches on offense. When he wants to play...he is pretty good. It just isn't often enough. Maybe that was because of AJ.

Was AJ the coach in Golden State when Damp was there? Nope. Damp is a problem all his own. That is why I'm glad Diop is back. That means Damp can be a role player off the bench or he can be shipped out. Either way, we have a starting caliber center on the team already.

He wasn't the coach, just a teammate. It was a contract year for Damp at the time though. Very glad Diop is back also, hope he plays like he did in '06.

Damp was very mediocre for alot of years when Avery wasn't around...even in college he was "ok".

Trouble is, he even looks that way when he is playing well...hard to get a read on him before the game.

The biggest problem is, there doesn't seem to be much out there available via trade...maybe we could do something with the Knicks and get Crawford, but that isn't setting the world on fire...that guy is a clutch shooter though. Other than that, what is there? An undersized 2 guard (Ben Gordon)....that is pretty much Jason Terry all over and he will want a bigger deal than JET has.
